Pickleball in West New York, New Jersey
West New York sits on the Hudson Palisades across from Manhattan, with a compact street grid and easy access to recreation throughout Hudson County. Local players have a town run outdoor program, and nearby Hoboken and Jersey City add public courts, indoor open play, lessons, and court reservations.
The right choice depends on how you want to play. West New York Recreation is the local entry point for residents and adults who want organized programming. Southwest Resiliency Park works well for outdoor games when you already have partners. PB Club is the most dependable option for a player arriving alone because its scheduled open play places participants into games.
Courts and Facilities
- West New York Recreation Adult Pickleball: The town offers a free outdoor program for adults age 21 and older. Online registration is open, and the program does not list a membership requirement or resident only fee restriction. Use the adult pickleball registration page to join the local program.
- Southwest Resiliency Park (nearby in Hoboken): Six outdoor pickleball courts are available at 59 Harrison Street, Hoboken, NJ 07030. The facility hours are 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily. These courts are a practical public option for a planned game with partners. The court page and calendar provide the current facility schedule.
- PB Club (nearby in Jersey City): This indoor pickleball facility at 2 Garfield Avenue, Suite 9, Jersey City, NJ 07305 has three cushioned courts. Players can reserve a court, register for coached open play, or take clinics. Nonmembers are welcome, and house paddles and balls are available at no charge. The club is open daily from 5:00 AM to 1:00 AM. Create an account and choose a session through PB Club booking.
Getting Started
New adult players should begin with West New York Recreation. The free town program provides instruction through named program staff and gives adults age 21 and older a direct introduction to the local playing community. Registration is available through the 2026 adult program page.
West New York residents ages 10 through 18 can use the town's free youth pickleball program. Registration is subject to residency approval.
PB Club is the stronger nearby choice for adults who want a structured introduction at an indoor facility. Its Intro to Pickleball clinic covers scoring, serving, returns, court position, dinking, and volleys. Players looking for individual instruction can also use the Coaches section.
Open Play and Local Programs
West New York's adult and youth recreation programs provide the main organized pickleball activity in town. The adult program is free and open to players age 21 and older. The youth program is free for approved West New York residents ages 10 through 18.
For organized games throughout the year, PB Club schedules coached open play for all levels and offers clinics, court reservations, and tournaments. Open play is the useful choice when you do not have a complete group because participants sign up for the same hosted session. Current sessions and prices are available through the club's booking calendar.
Southwest Resiliency Park provides six outdoor courts for recreational play in Hoboken. Court availability is not the same as an organized open play session, so this option is most predictable when your group has already arranged a game.
Planning Your Trip to West New York
If you are visiting alone, book an open play session at PB Club. The hosted format puts registered players together, all levels are welcome, and nonmembers can participate without bringing partners or equipment. Complete the player account and waiver before arrival, then use your reservation in the club app for entry.
If you are traveling with other players and prefer outdoor pickleball, use the six courts at Southwest Resiliency Park in Hoboken. The public facility stays open from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily and is better suited to a group that already has enough players for a game.
West New York's own recreation program is designed for ongoing local participation. Adults staying longer can register for the town program, and resident youth ages 10 through 18 have a separate free program.
